As improvisers, we tend to do more work than we need to. Using techniques blatantly ripped off Anne Bogart, learn how to use viewpoints and archetypes to find inspiration, subvert expectations and cut to the core of a scene - with way less brainpower.

Stop going the long way on the Rainbow Road - take the leap and get ahead on your scene work! Yes, I did play a lot of Mario Kart '64 as kid, why do you ask?

Instructor Profile

Jenni Townsend

Jenni is an improviser, character comedian and filmmaker who has been playing with improv for over a decade, from acting in movies with improvised dialogue to being an ensemble member of both The Improv Conspiracy and The Big Hoo-Haa. She has directed and coached numerous shows and teams, with a particular focus on character, narrative and genre.

In her solo work, she enjoys exploring the boundaries of comedy's form, such as combining sketch and fashion-improv (a.k.a. literally creating an outfit on stage), or performing a one-person multiverse-character play, or designing a completely digitally-interactive improv solo show. Jenni has a bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida State University's Film School and by day is a director and showrunner of kids' cartoons, so has a particular talent for dumb jokes that kids will laugh at.
